Creating Courses

Define the training programs that your certificates will be linked to.

What is a course?

In Certifier, a course represents a training program or certification pathway. Every certificate you issue is tied to a specific course, which determines the template used and how the certificate appears to recipients and verifiers.

Adding a new course

Navigate to Courses in the sidebar and click "Add Course." Enter a descriptive name (e.g., "Advanced First Aid — Level 2") and an optional description. Keep names clear and consistent — they appear on certificates and in the public verification portal.

Assigning templates

After creating a course, assign a full-size certificate template and optionally a pocket certificate template. You can do this from the course edit page or from the Certificate Settings area. If no template is assigned, Certifier falls back to your organization's default template.

Managing existing courses

You can edit course names and descriptions at any time. Changes apply to future certificates only — already-issued certificates retain the details from when they were created. Archive courses you no longer offer to keep your workspace tidy.
